Legenda Lasu

Around the Cabin: Attractions, Lifts and Thermal Baths

Ski lifts, thermal baths, trails and water attractions near our cabin on the border of Groń and Białka Tatrzańska. All within easy reach, in every season.

Legenda Lasu stands off on its own, in the quiet and with no neighbours, but that doesn’t mean you’re far from everything. Quite the opposite. The largest ski resort in Podhale is a 5-minute walk, the thermal baths a dozen or so minutes, and the trails and the river within a short drive. Below we’ve laid out the area so you know what’s where before you arrive.

In winter

Kotelnica Białczańska is a 5-minute walk, along a path through the forest, with a ski school and a rental at the lift. You’ll find the route description from the cabin on a separate page (How long it takes to get from the cabin to Kotelnica). After skiing, the thermal baths are within easy reach, with hot water and saunas (The nearest thermal baths from the cabin: Bania or Bukovina). The area also offers sleigh rides, dog-sled trips and walks along snow-covered trails.

In summer

The same Kotelnica turns into the Gravity Park with downhill trails and monster rollers (Gravity Park Kotelnica in summer). Nearby flows the Białka River with kayaking, and further off there’s rafting on the Dunajec (Cabin near the Białka River). The trails into the Tatras, the Gorce and the Pieniny start within a short drive.

All year round

Some attractions run regardless of the season. The Bania and Bukovina thermal baths are open all year, and Niedzica Castle above Lake Czorsztyn, around 30 minutes by car, is a good idea for a half-day outing, including when the weather doesn’t cooperate (What to do near the cabin when it rains).

Regional cuisine

The area isn’t short of places serving traditional Podhale cooking: oscypek (smoked highland sheep cheese), kwaśnica (highland sauerkraut soup) and placki po zbójnicku (potato pancakes with goulash). For specific recommendations it’s best to ask us on site, we’ll gladly point you to where we eat ourselves.
